Episode 6:
Beloved Urban Fantasy fans! It’s time for another episode of my World Building and Lore Series. On this episode, I’ll be talking about maps! What does the world I’ve built look like? Well, it is set in our world with real world places, however there are some places that are NOT of our world that deserve attention. Read on to learn more about these mysterious places.
Worlds within Worlds

Why are we fascinating with places in stories? Setting is so important for world building and in a way, it is what makes those places characters themselves. In my Immortal Series, I work to build a place where readers can immerse themselves in mysterious locations, fantastical ideas, and interesting history. The main antagonist in Book 1 of the series is the elusive dark organization of Lorns known as “The Order.”
Deep in the caves beneath the Black Forest they reside, in hiding, waiting to rise up and be hidden no more. Here is where the secret of immortality lives. In an effort to create a visual, I made a map of the cave system to show what the place might look like.
Visualizing the Fantasy
Bringing this to life was fun and nothing really helps more than a visual. I had been TRYING to portray it for some time and the idea lived in my head for years. But no one can see inside my head so a visual was needed. Below is the map of the Diluvian Order’s hideout. I’d make maps of the rest of the world but it is our own world. HOWEVER, there are places beyond I may map out in the future. For now, here is the hideout, so aptly called “The Hive” of the Order.

Seeing is Believing
While visuals are super helpful in our seeing what is what, nothing beats our imaginations. I’ve had readers see things different ways in my books and that’s okay. I want the reader to create the world with me. Enjoy and become lost in it. So now is the best time to embark on that experience with me. To check out my books click the button below and learn more. Tis all for now! I cannot wait to see you on the next episode!
Till next time!
